The Scratchophone
For the Chicagoan’s who frequent “Bongo Beach” and Los Angels that frequent Venice Beach, you may soon see your friendly neighborhood DJs out among the pack with this new portable “scratch instrument” called The Scratchophone. Even DJ Qbert has one. Well at least, there is a Qbert edition in the works.
Not a bad idea… Turntablists will probably dig the possibilities in the showmanship of the unit. But then again some purists will surely frown on the thing.
The Scratchophone is a portable Scratch instrument, featuring a turntable, a special tonearm, scratch mixer, and a pair of speakers. It can even be used with a cordeless power supply.
